Can someone give us an update on the status of OSR. Is it a go for 2009 or is it D.O.A.

I hope DOA is not in the cards. Norm? Gene? How about a press release? Thanks.

I sent an email directly to Gene, asking about the status of Old School Racing.
His reply is entirely great news; "Thanks for asking..Yes...we have investors involved and are working on the paperwork now.."

Norm or Gene: May we have an update - even if it's not good, we would like to know.
Thanks, John

All, Sorry for the long delay. One of the reasons for the delay was that we were in negotiations with Roush-Fenway for Roush to manage Old School Racing with Norm and I.
After almost a year of negotiations and meetings with R-F, the Roush-Fenway Board of Directors decided not to pursue this venture due to many factors. One being the wavering economy and the second was the fact that they have a couple of NASCAR teams without sponsorship and need to focus on that.
With that being said, R-F decided to remove this venture from their business plan moving forward.
That has set our entire team back again.....
We are taking many punches on the chin, but we are still just at the end of round 2 and feel that have many rounds left.
We are in the process of searching for sponsorship and hope to have something in place for a 2010 OSR series.
We may have another event similar to last years Nashville event and are still trying to help the promoters get that event squared away. Keep posted to the web site for details within the next month or so.
We will be updating our site soon and we will do everything in our power to make Old School Racing a reality.
Gene W.

Man I tried to come here about an hour ago and got a "404 cannot find the page" Gave me quite a scare! Sure wish I worked at some big company that would help with sponsorship but somehow I don't think the retirement community I work for would go for it. Although we do have some very rich residents, heirs to some big companies, I'll have to talk them up and see if any are old race fans.

#1 Question; Is there any way members could help promote this series? Is there promo material available to open doors and then refer any prospects to you for "the rest of the story"? Will you have different levels of sponsorship? Is there a minimum?
Question #2 - Is there any possibility that O.S.R. could bring back racing to tracks these men and machines raced at back in the day, North Wilksboro, Rockingham, etc
